Module Activities
Once digital information fluency skills have been integrated into school programs, it is critical to sustain and maintain the momentum. One of the ways to create enthusiasm and excitement is to hold updates on the program itself. These can be sharing experiences among the departments and grade levels to showcase assignments and student work and achievement.

The library can also provide opportunities for teachers to master technology skills themselves by holding workshops on new subscription databases, advanced Internet searching, or a new software program.

These sessions can be conducted in:
  • New teacher program
  • Department or grade level meetings
  • After school classes
  • Brown bag sessions
  • Summer workshops
  • Institute and in-service days
Depending on how supportive and financially able the school or district is, incentives could be given for attendance. CPDU or salary credit or compensation would certainly increase participation.

The librarian and technology coordinator should also participate in curriculum committees to facilitate the integration of the information fluency skills into the content areas. Networking outside the local school and professional development is also critical for the librarian and technology coordinator.
