Overview: Integrating 21st Century Information Fluency Skills – Activate and Engage!

For the next two weeks we will concentrate on ‘activating’ 21st Century Information Fluency Skills through curriculum integration. Research shows that information technology has the greatest impact on student learning when it is incorporated into authentic, engaged learning experiences. Our course projects are about how to integrate information technology with engaged learning. Your lesson plan project will document that engagement.

Our course work will focus on exploring digital integration issues, experimenting with an online learning module, and investigating the intellectually challenging concepts of ‘idea ownership’. Hopefully this week's work will help you to adapt resources found on the web for classroom use while considering the ethical and legal issues surrounding use of intellectual property.
