Google Advanced Operator: intitle:

intitle: The single term following the operator must appear in the <title> text of the page. Don't mistake the html designation <title> for a headline on the page. Each webpage has just one descriptive title. It follows that a page that describes the content using the key terms you are searching for is likely to be a close match for what you seek.

The query intitle:word confines results to documents containing a single word in the title. Terms placed before the operator will be found in the text of the page.

For instance: manual diagram intitle:toyota will return documents that mention the word "toyota" in their titles, and mention the words "manual" and "diagram" anywhere in the document (title or not).

Remember: No space between the operator intitle: and the search term.

Google Advanced Operator: allintitle:

allintitle: All query words must appear in the title of the page.

For instance: allintitle:crochet knitting yarn will return pages with titles containing 'crochet' 'knitting' and 'yarn'.

Don't mistake the html designation for a headline on the page. Webpages can have only one descriptive title. It follows that a page with a title that describes the content with your key terms is likely to be a close match for what you seek. The assumption is that pages that have all of your query words in the html <title> field are likely to be more closely focused on your topic than pages where the terms only appear in the text.

Remember: No space between the operator allintitle: and the search term.

Google Advanced Operator: inurl:

inurl: The term immediately after the operator must appear in the URL of the page.

For instance:  inurl:coupons discount will return documents that mention the word "coupons" in their URL, and mention the word "discount" anywhere in the document.

Choosing specific keywords and combining operators will focus your search.  For instance: inurl:coupons discount "car rental" will return webpages with the word coupon in the URL and the phrase "car rental" in the text. It doesn't matter if the word appears as part of a longer sequence in the URL. This means http://myfuncouponbook.com would be returned with this query.

Remember: No space between the operator inurl: and the search term.

Google Advanced Operator: allinurl:

allinurl: All of the terms after the operator must appear in the URL of the page.

For instance: allinurl:grant apply will return documents that mention the words "grant" and "apply" in the URL. Changing the query to read: allinurl:grant apply org will further focus the search on to sites from the .org domain that have "grant" and "apply" in the URL.

It doesn't matter if the word appears as part of a longer sequence in the URL. This means http:www.reachingheights.org/grant/apply/ would be returned with this query.

Remember: No space between the operator allinurl: and the search terms.
